HHI Town Council approves land purchase

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) -

The town of Hilton Head Island is buying some land, but what they will do with it is still not known.

The Island Packet reports that the Town Council approved the purchase of 102 acres from the Heritage Golf Group in Port Royal Plantation for an estimated $5 million.

The land includes holes 2 through 16 of the Planter's Row golf course and stretches nearly 2,000 feet along William Hilton Parkway.

The town will lease the land to the group for the next two years until they decide what to do with the land.
