Two people have been arrested and charged in connection after a chase that started with an attempted traffic stop.

Bulloch County Drug Suppression Team investigators got a tip Thursday that a vehicle would be arriving in Bulloch County to pick up a large quantity of marijuana.

Georgia State Patrol troopers and BCSO Drug Suppression Team members go into position where the pickup was scheduled to take place.

Investigators saw two people in a Chevrolet trailblazer arrive and leave with the marijuana.

Investigators and troopers tried to pull over the Trailblazer. The driver took off down Cypress Lake Road, according to BCSO. The chase continued onto Coley Boyd Road. Troopers then used the PIT maneuver. No one was injured.

The driver Javontae Sarrod Parrish, 23, of Statesboro, and Marlana Nevels, 22, of Savannah, were taken into custody, according to the sheriff's office. An estimated 10 pounds of marijuana was discovered in the SUV, according to the BCSO.

Parrish was charged by with trafficking in marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute along with various traffic charges. 

Nevels was charged with trafficking in marijuana.
