SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Rescue crews responded to a wreck early Friday morning on Waters Avenue in Savannah.
It happened around 3 a.m. Friday on Waters Ave. just off DeRenne Ave. One car was involved in the wreck but police say there may have been another car involved so the Savannah-Chatham Metro Major Accident Investigations Team was brought out to investigate.
A WTOC news crew on scene says the car may have crashed into a tree but that has not yet been confirmed by police.
Rescue crews did have to cut the driver out of the car. There is no word on the extent of their injuries.
Police have Waters Avenue closed from Athea Parkway to Bacon Park Drive.
We are still working to get more details on exactly what happened and on the driver's condition. Check WTOC.com and WTOC on Facebook and Twitter for updates.
