BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) -

A Statesboro man is being held without bond in connection with a theft of property from a home.

Bulloch County sheriff's deputies responded on March 7 to a home on Johnny Brannen Road on a report of stolen items.

Some of the stolen property turned up at a local metal recycler and Claude Wesley Hardy Jr., 28, was identified as the suspect, according to the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.

Hardy was already wanted on parole and probation violations.

On Friday, BCSO investigators got a tip that Hardy was living at a home in the 1300 block Colfax Rd west. Deputies located Hardy there and took him into custody without incident.

BCSO investigators and Statesboro Police Dept. detectives worked together, which led to theft charges against Hardy in Statesboro as well.

Hardy is charged with one count of felony theft by taking, one count of second-degree burglary, parole violation and probation violation.

He is being held at the Bulloch County jail.
