BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -
Blue Cross Blue Shield presented a $50,000 grant to the Ronald McDonald House charities of the Coastal Empire Friday morning.
The funds will go towards the mobile dental program that helps provide more than 1,000 children with dental care.
"Very simply for us, dental is a high priority in funding for 2013. Our major focus for 2013 will be adult dental, but the way to prevent adult dental problems is to fund dental program for kids," said Harvey Galloway, executive director of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina Foundation.
According to the Blue Cross Blue Shield, the Ronald McDonald mobile care is the largest provider for free dental health care to underserved children in Beaufort County.
