EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

A wild scene at Effingham Parc Apartments in Rincon early Saturday morning ends with the suspect still on the loose.

The Effingham County Sheriff's Office, Rincon Police, and SCMPD SWAT team responded to a possible barricaded suspect at an apartment building at Effingham Park Apartments around 9 a.m. Saturday.

Cori Hines, 27, of Savannah is wanted by SCMPD for shooting his ex-girlfriend around 4 a.m. Saturday in Oaks at Brandlewood apartments. Police say the ex-girlfriend does not have life threatening injuries.

After about two hours of surrounding the apartment building that witnesses placed the suspect, SWAT stormed into the apartment to discover Hines had already left the building.

Police say Hines may still be in the Rincon area or on his way back to Chatham County and is armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers or Metro Police.
