Red Cross responds to fire in Port Royal

PORT ROYAL, SC (WTOC) -

Red Cross volunteers and the Beaufort-Port Royal Fire Department responded to a house fire on Greenway Court in Port Royal Saturday afternoon.

Fire officials do not yet know what caused the fire but it caused major damage to the home.

The Red Cross provided the fire victims with temporary housing, funds to replace food and clothing lost in the fire, comfort kits, containing personal hygiene items, and referrals to partner agencies to assist with the family's long-term recovery.
