SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police said a man broke items off of the Savannah River Queen boat early Monday morning.

William Cole, 26, of Brunswick, was arrested by SCMPD's Downtown Precinct officers and charged with criminal damage to property.

A witness alerted police at about 5 a.m. that with no shirt on had climbed atop the Savannah River Queen and was breaking items off of the boat.

Cole told police the boat angered him because of the way it was looking at him, according to SCMPD. He was holding an antenna to the boat's radio equipment in his hands atop the wheel house when police arrived.

Boat damage is estimated at about $20,000.
