Monsignor O'Neill announces retirement

Monsignor William O'Neill

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A very familiar face at the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist has announced his retirement.

Monsignor William O'Neill will retire on June 15.

The 70 year old says he will remain in the cathedral and plans to spend more time ministering to the homeless and other going through difficult times.

Monsignor O'Neill has served 46 years with the Savannah Diocese.
