
Two Beaufort County schools are being recognized for their performance on college entrance exams.
Both Hilton Head Island High and Bluffton High School were both honored by the South Carolina's Dept. of Education's Performance Improvement Award Program for their performance high schools on the ACT and SAT exams.
The 2012 seniors at Hilton Head were given the cum laude designation for excellent performance that was above the national average on the SAT with an average score in 2012 of 1479 that's up from 1,473 in the previous year. Bluffton High was given a magna cum laude designation for excellent performance the average seniors' score in 2012 was 1420, up from 1395 the previous year.
