BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) -
A woman charged with three counts of first-degree cruelty to
children was released on a $5,000 property bond.
Audrea Marks, 30, of Portal, Ga., appeared in Bulloch County
Superior Court on Tuesday. She is charged with cruelty to children, three
counts of reckless conduct and one count of disorderly conduct.
A woman told Bulloch County deputies she went there to pick up her
grandchild and noted that the living conditions were unsanitary and called the
sheriff's office, according to the BCSO.
Three children, ages 6, 9, and
12, lived at the home along with 30-year-old Audrea Michell Marks. The deputy
saw animal feces throughout the home including on the children's bedding, there
was a strong smell of animal urine and a kitchen trashcan was leaking,
according to the BCSO.
The children told the deputy that
they had not eaten since school lunch the previous day. Marks was arrested and
the Dept. of Family and Children Services was contacted.
The judge order Marks to have no contact with her kids.
