JEFF DAVIS CO., GA (WTOC) -
Five people were arrested Sunday night on drug charges.
Deputies with the Jeff Davis County Sheriff's Office responded to a
robbery that occurred at the Tannery Parkway mobile home park.
The victim pointed deputies to a residence on Southside Circle in
Hazlehurst.
When deputies got there, they heard a fight going on inside the mobile
home. Deputies knocked on the door several times and the suspects refused to
open the door, according to the sheriff's office.
When they went inside, deputies located Trench Jackson, Savannah
Davis, Lucious Jackson, Jennifer Benitez and Jacqulyn Dotson inside the bedroom
of the mobile home and spotted an amount of crack cocaine, according to the
sheriff's office.
Deputies linked Jennifer Benitez to a theft that occurred on Towns
Bluff Road in Jeff
Davis County
from February. Deputies were led to the stolen property in Hazlehurst.
All the property discovered was taken into evidence and will be returned to the
owner, according to the JCSO.
The five suspects were charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Benitez is also charged with theft by taking and strong arm robbery.
Hazlehurst police assisted at the residence on Southside
Circle.
