The Chatham Emergency Management Agency has unveiled their brand new Mobile Emergency Operations Center and Emergency Communication Trailer.
The completely self-contained mobile EOC will allow CEMA to position a forward command post in case of a hurricane, wildfire, or other major disasters. The center and trailer will also be utilized in all kinds of different situations on a day to day basis.
"We'll use it for law enforcement operations if they need it, we'll use it for search and rescue operations if it's such that we need it. And, special events, it'll be deployed this weekend for the St. Patrick's Day Parade," said Clayton Scott, Director of CEMA.
Both vehicles were fully funded by federal grants. No county funds were used.
