Man gets 1 year in prison in double fatal crash

EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

A Springfield man found guilty of reckless driving for a 2010 crash that killed two teens was sentenced to 12 months in prison.

On March 8, a jury found 20-year-old Robbie Stone not guilty on all counts except reckless driving for the crash that occurred in Effingham County.

Robbie Stone was charged with two counts of first-degree vehicular homicide, reckless driving and failure to maintain a lane in connection with the deaths of Whitney Newman and Neil Morgan, who were both 17 years old at the time of the crash.

Stone, along with three teenage girls, were injured in the wreck.
