Eight injured sea
turtles are recovering right now at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center on Jekyll Island.
The turtles arrived
over the past five days. They said eight is an unusually high number of turtles
to arrive at the center in a short period of time. Temperature changes, red
tides and algae blooms are some of the leading causes of turtles becoming
stranded or sick.
The turtles are
suffering from barnacles, alga and worms.
