CLARENDON CO., SC (WTOC) - The Clarendon County Sheriff's Office is trying to identify the parents of a boy who was found walking Saturday morning on Highway 261.

Clarendon County Sheriff Randy Garrett said that at about 9 a.m. Saturday, a woman was driving down the road and spotted an African-American boy who's believed to be 2-3 years old walking on Highway 261. She picked up the child who was only wearing a T-shirt, diaper and shoes and called 911.

Deputies have been taking the child door-to-door trying to locate family. No one knows who the child belongs to.

No missing child reports filed anywhere in area, according to the sheriff's office.

The sheriff is asking for the public's help to identify the parents.
