An armed robbery occurred early Saturday morning outside a Bluffton apartment complex.

Sheriff's deputies responded just before 5 a.m. Saturday to Bluffton House apartments. Deputies met with 29-year-old man who said he had been robbed at gunpoint in the wooded lot between Bluffton House and Lowcountry Presbyterian Church.

The victim told deputies that he had walked to Walgreen's to buy beer and was on his way home when he was suddenly attacked by an unknown black male. The suspect then pointed a handgun at him and took the case of beer he had just bought, according to the BCSO. The victim was treated at the scene.

The victim said there was another man with him who didn't participate in the robbery.  The suspects ran from the area in an unknown direction. The victim was intoxicated at the time and provided several conflicting accounts of the incident, according to the BCSO.
