BURTON, SC (WTOC) -
The
Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating an attempted murder in
Burton.
Deputies
responded at about 11 p.m. Monday to Taylor's mobile home park on a report of a
person shot.
The
mobile home was open and three children were found sleeping inside, but no
gunshot victim was found.
The
children's mother, ran after she heard gunshots. The victim states her
ex-boyfriend has been calling her throughout the day asking what she was doing,
who she was with and that he was going to stop by, according the Beaufort
County Sheriff's Office. The victim says she stopped answering phone calls from
him.
The
victim told deputies that she, her mother, a cousin, a male friend and the
children were inside the mobile home when her ex-boyfriend went inside. She said
the man stole a key to her home can came in without her consent. She said that
when she saw him in her mobile home, she, her mother, her cousin and friend ran
out leaving the children behind.
The
victim said that as she was running down the street, she heard three gunshots.
She ran to her mother's residence and called 911.
Deputies
found the vehicle that belonged to the victim's male friend in Bluffton. They
discovered that the suspect had shot the vehicle several times. Not one was
injured.
No
arrests have been made.
