Beaufort Town Council expects tax revenue to drop

BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) -

The Beaufort Town Council is discussing revenue for the next fiscal year.

The town expects revenue to decline alone with the property tax base because of a countywide reassessment. They said the tax will likely fall from $62 million to $58 million.

The council is also expected to discuss traffic issues at Beaufort Elementary and changes to the business license ordinance.
