The American Red Cross has a new mobile app that could help save your life.
Download the new Tornado Warning and Alert App and you will be first to hear if there's a tornado warning in your area. The app also has helpful tips you can use before, during and after a tornado.
"It's also a great way for you to get a warning in the middle of the night if a tornado is coming. It actually uses the GPS on the phone and allows location to be found, and if a tornado warning happens where you are it will sound." said Lara Gill, Flint River Chapter Red Cross Director.
The app also has historical data about tornadoes in your area, with interactive quizzes and simple step-by-step advice it's never been easier to be prepared. It even allows you to use your phone as a flashlight or emergency strobe light.
The Red Cross also has a First Aid App and Apps specifically for other types of disasters.
