HARDEEVILLE, SC (WTOC) -

A Savannah man wanted on several charges by the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police was arrested Wednesday.

Tyree Lashon Fields, 37, was wanted on charges of aggravated assault with intent to rob, criminal attempt at armed robbery and possession of a firearm in connection with a May 2012 incident at the Windsor Arms Apartment complex in Savannah. Warrants were issued in this case on March 6.

The case was referred to the U.S. Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Savannah. The task force generated leads that placed Fields in the Hardeeville and more information generated that he was at the Economy Inn.

U.S. Marshals and Hardeeville police found out which room Fields was staying in and knocked on the door. He answered the door and was immediately arrested without incident.

Fields was taken to the Jasper County Jail to await extradition proceedings to send him back to Savannah.
