Paying for a student's education may now be more affordable for many Georgia Southern University students. The university announced an online program where students or their families can make payments and spread the bill across multiple months.
Southern teamed with NelNet Business Solutions to allow students to sign up and pay a $50 per semester fee to break tuition, housing, meals, and fees in to three payments.
"They would pay at least 60 percent of the bill up front, then pay the rest over two months interest free," explained university spokesperson Casey Jones.
The plan would cover up to $5,500 for a student per semester. Students could sign up to use the program as soon as the upcoming summer semester, but they must be registered for it by May 20.
