Pink Power Run 5k to fight breast cancer in Bulloch County

STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

More than 400 runners took part in the inaugural Pink Power Run 5k race. Organizers hope for similar support for the 2013 race on March 30. The race benefits the Statesboro-Bulloch County Breast Cancer Foundation. Co-founder Dr. Marc Bisseck believes support of the event is so strong because so many are affected by this form of disease.

"One out of every eight women deal with breast cancer. So everyone knows someone that it affects. So its important that we can gather and celebrate survivors and know that we're not alone."

Runners can register before the race at the GSU RAC pavilion or online at http://www.active.com/running/statesboro-ga/2nd-annual-pink-power-run-5k-2013?int=29-12.
