POOLER, GA (WTOC) -
A mother and her four children were displaced Thursday morning after a fire destroyed their home on Old Dean Forest Road in Pooler.
Responding firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire but they believe it was due to a space heater inside the home.
Firefighters say they
were able to put out the fire quickly thanks to some extra help.
"We had three
from our recruit class, they got their badges this morning around 9:30 a.m.
This is the second call they went on and it was a working fire. We had extra
assistance with that," said Wade Simmons, Pooler Fire chief.
No one was injured and the Red Cross is on the scene to assist the family.
