MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A man who says he was just trying to do a good deed is now recovering from an accident he can't remember.
That man offered to give drive the someone he just met to Walmart Friday morning from a gas station parking lot on Third Avenue South.
About half way to their destination, the passenger presented a knife and tried to rob the victim, who struggled with him for the knife until the car crashed near the intersection of Pine Island Road and Robert Grissom Parkway.
The incident report from Myrtle Beach Police says the driver was woken up by police and sirens in his wrecked vehicle, but the suspect was nowhere to be found. The man could not remember if anything had been taken from him, but the report notes he had a deep laceration on his chin and a swollen lip.
The suspect was described as a slim black male with lots of facial hair, between 30 and 40 years old. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Myrtle Beach Police as soon as possible.
