Delta Savannah named Voluntary Protection Program Star Site
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Members of Delta Airlines in Savannah are getting recognized for their protection programs. On Friday, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration awarded the airline's customer service and technical operations in Savannah as its newest Voluntary Protection Star Site. The program recognizes workplaces with outstanding safety systems and performance.
"This is a real distinction for us. It is about a year and a half to two years of work to get to a point where we are at a place for our safety metrics that we really demonstrate the highest safety of workforce of any company and OSHA recognizes that," said Curt Bryant, station manager, Savannah, Delta Airlines.
Delta has been a part of the program since 2011 and now has 15 locations at Star status.
