Islands High SchoolThe Southeast Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross played Prize Patrol Friday, surprising the winners of their Dollars for Disasters campaign.
WTOC followed as they surprised the top three schools.
West Chatham Middle School took the overall trophy again this year. They raised more than $3,500, which is more than any other Savannah-Chatham public school.
Garrison School of Visual and Performing Arts came in second, raising more than $1,300 for local disaster victims.
Islands High School took the third place trophy. They raised more than $1,200, more than any other high school.
"It is so important to have young people learn how to give back in their community in so many different ways. For them to understand it is not just about them but giving back and making a stronger community," said Esther Sheppard, chapter development manager.
All of the money raised will stay local and help people right here in the community.
