BRUNSWICK, GA (WTOC) -

Police say an anonymous tip to members of the Glynn County Criminal Investigation Division helped lead them to arrest two teens in connection to the Thursday morning shooting of a mother and her infant.

Thursday evening, the Glynn County Criminal Investigation Division received an anonymous tip that a person was witnessed in a crouched position, in the back seat of a vehicle as it was driven away from the area of the crime scene.

Detectives spent several hours following leads and ultimately the reliable information from the anonymous tipster led detectives to the location of the 14-year-old male suspect. Police questioned the suspect and obtained information that led them to a second suspect, a 17-year-old male.

Both the Brunswick Police Investigations Division and the Glynn County Police Investigations Division will continue their ongoing investigation.

Mayor Bryan Thompson, City Manager Bill Weeks, and Chief Tobe Green are said to be "thankful for the assistance of local and neighboring law enforcement during this challenging period in the community."
