Three drivers injured in West Bay Street collision

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Three people suffered serious injuries in a three-car collision Tuesday night on West Bay Street.

It happened at about 6:48 p.m. Tuesday. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police said Christopher Robinson, 25, was driving a gray Chevrolet Impala east on Bay Street near Kirkland Street when he slammed on brakes, swerved to the right lane and hit a Nissan Altima driven by Antionette Cooper, 39, as she was turning into a parking lot.

That crash spun the Nissan into the westbound lane and into the path of a silver Cadillac STS that was driven by Shelton Hills, 46, of Pembroke.

All three drivers were taken to Memorial University Medical Center. All injuries were considered serious, but non-life-threatening.

SCMPD's Major Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate.
