CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

One Georgia woman took a vacation of a lifetime and took all the pictures she could. Suddenly, her camera went missing with all her photos on it. Now, five years later, the camera has been found.

Lindsay Scallan took a trip to Hawaii with some friends in 2007. While scuba diving on the last night of the vacation, her camera slipped off her wrist.

Years later, the camera washed ashore in Taiwan. The man who found it recognized the scenery to be Hawaii, and contacted the media there. Then, a friend of Scallan saw the story online and contacted her.

"They said hey Lindsay, looks like somebody found the camera, here is the link. And the rest is history. At first I thought it was a scam, and then I got to read it and I was like oh my goodness, this is for real and this is my camera, I recognize that picture. I found some other links that showed more pictures and this is my camera," said Scallan.

Scallan now plans to travel to Taiwan and meet the man who saved her pictures.
