Man charged after authorities seize drugs, weapons

BLOOMINGDALE, GA (WTOC) -

A Bloomingdale man facing several drug and weapons charges was put behind bars Thursday following a six month long investigation conducted by the Effingham County Sheriff's Office Drug Suppression Unit.

Early Thursday morning, authorities executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Pecan Grove Blvd., where they located several different kinds of drugs and weapons. Investigators discovered two methamphetamine labs, prescription pills, ICE, morphine and 13 firearms.

Authorities have charged Larry Lunsford, 42, of Bloomingdale with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, along with several other drug charges.

Investigators believe that Lunsford has been supplying several types of drugs to people in Effingham and Chatham County as well as in other areas in the region.

A truck and two four wheelers were also seized by deputies. Lunsford is being held in the Effingham County Jail. Additional arrests are pending.
