Savannah/Chatham CASA is hosting events and fund-raisers through the month to recognize National Child Abuse Month.
Here are the upcoming events:
Small Bits for a Big Cause – 5-10 p.m. April 2 at Moe's Southwest Grill at 150 W. Julian St. in Ellis Square. A portion of the restaurant's sales will support CASA.
Savannah/Chatham CASA Open House – 5-7 p.m. April 10 at the Savannah/Chatham CASA Open House CASA Office, 428 Bull St., Suite 205.
Small Bits for a Big Cause – 5-7:30 p.m. Chik-fil-A at 180 Pooler Parkway. Donations from each transaction will support CASA.
Annual meeting and volunteer appreciation – 8 a.m. April 26 - Woodville Tompkins Technical and Career High School, 151 Coach Joe Turner St. in Savannah. Savannah/Chatham CASA will highlight its program and recognize volunteers.
"As community partners in the child welfare system, CASA volunteers increase abused and neglected children's access to services, promote safety, and advocate for timeliness and permanency for children involved in juvenile court proceedings," said ZaDonna Slay, CASA director, in a statement. "The focus of our local program is to strive to strengthen our service delivery. National Child Abuse Prevention Month is an ideal time to promote protective factors and prevention of child maltreatment in our community."
