SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A Savannah man was charged with trespassing Friday after he climbed into cages at a wildlife center and led police on a foot chase through the woods.

John Floyd, 26, of an East Park Avenue address, was arrested by Island Precinct patrol officers who chased him down in a utility vehicle that they borrowed from Oatland Island Wildlife Center on Sandtown Road after they found him in the enclosure reserved for wolves.

Police were called to the center around noon after witnesses saw Floyd in the pen. Once police arrived, Floyd climbed the fence into other enclosures and then ran down a trail.

Police found a container of sugar cubes, unidentified brown crystallized powder, unidentified liquid, an almost empty fifth of Kahlua, and an almost empty half gallon of soy milk in Floyd's backpack.

Police are continuing to investigate.
