Couple wanted in Effingham Co. arrested in Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A couple wanted by the Effingham County Sheriff's Office were arrested in Savannah Friday night.

Thursday afternoon, around 4 p.m., Effingham County Sheriff's deputies discovered more than two pounds of marijuana and six firearms inside of a residence following a search warrant.

Patrol deputies arrived at a home on John Glenn Dr. in the Westwood Heights Subdivision to make an arrest on a probation violation warrant.

Andrew Mikell, 19, of Rincon was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug related objects.

In a release Saturday from the Effingham County Sheriff's Office, "Effingham County Sheriff's investigators located Skipper and Mikell at the Travelers Inn on Ogeechee Road around 11 p.m.," said Sheriff' Spokesman David Ehsanipoor.

Savannah Chatham Metro Police assisted in the arrest. Skipper and Mikell were transported back to Effingham County where they remain in jail charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
