Oglethorpe Speedway Park holds season opener

Oglethorpe Speedway Park held their season opener Friday night.

It included five divisions of race cars. During intermission, the non-profit organization, "Ride for Smiles," gave a young man an opportunity to experience the thrill of racing.

"I used to race all the time. Got out of racing and this little boy down the road from us has cerebal palsy. He's got several things wrong and I always said if I have a chance to build a car to give that boy a ride in, that's what I would do and that's what we done last year, finally built a car to ride him and other disabled people in," said Hubert Jenkins.

The Ride for Smiles car is capable of providing a ride for one individual each Friday night of the racing season. You can visit the "Ride for Smiles" facebook page for more information.
