The principal at St. Helena Elementary is retiring.
The Island Packet reports that Kay Keeler told school staff she will retire at the end of the school year.
Keeler is leaving after parents, former teachers and a school board member called the school about it's "under performance."
Keeler said the decision to leave is a family decision. She said she plans to be a full-time minister's wife and grandmother.
