Celebrations mostly calm after UofL win

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – As fans celebrated the University of Louisville's Final Four win over Wichita State, Metro police said there had been few problems reported.

Officer Carey Klain, a LMPD spokesperson, said that officers had made six arrests by 11 p.m. One person was charged with menacing. The other five were for disorderly conduct.

Klain said police manpower was being deployed as needed, but the major issues were traffic related.

One man was wounded in a shooting in the 400 block of S. 26th Street shortly after the game ended. His wounds are said to be non-life threatening.
