Computer glitch fixed at Georgia driver service offices

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

The computer glitch that caused people to wait in line for hours Tuesday, only to be turned away, appears to have been fixed.

Before the doors opened Wednesday at the downtown office of the Georgia Department of Driver Services, people were waiting in line. Several had been there the day before and expected more problems, but they were pleasantly surprised.

Once the doors opened, some people were in and out in ten minutes.

"Painlessly," said Michael Everhart of Atlanta. "It was quick and easy."

A DDS spokesperson said Tuesday's issue was related to a problem with a vendor's network hardware.

Despite the problem being fixed, DDS still expects longer than usual wait times on Wednesday because of all of the people who were not seen on Tuesday. They ask that customers plan accordingly.
