CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

On Thursday, cadets from the Peace Officer Academy at Savannah Technical College donated dog food, dog treats, toys and supplies to the Chatham County Sheriff's Office Operation New Hope program.

Operation New Hope is a Chatham County Detention Center program in that allows inmates to train unadoptable dogs from the Humane Society for Greater Savannah.

Cadets from Robert "Bobby" Crapse Cohort 2013-01 donated the supplies to Operation New Hope Coordinator Lt. Robert Brooks, Chief Deputy Roy Harris and Jail Administrator Col. John Wilcher.

It's the second time cadets from the Savannah Tech's Peace Officer Academy have donated supplies to program.
