Lowcountry in-person absentee voting underway

In-person absentee voting locations for the U.S. House District 1 race are open in Beaufort and Bluffton.  

Former Republican Gov. Mark Sanford faces off to Democratic challenger Elizabeth Colbert-Busch. They are running for the vacant District 1 seat once held by U.S. Sen. Tim Scott. The special election is May 7.

Voters can cast their ballots from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Beaufort and Bluffton absentee precincts:

Bluffton absentee precinct

61-B Ulmer Road

Bluffton, SC 29910

On May 6, the Beaufort voting location will be open until 5 p.m.

South Carolina voters are required to bring one of any of these forms of photo identification to the polls:

 

  • South Carolina driver's license
  • Photo ID issued by the South Carolina Dept. of Motor Vehicles
  • Voter registration card with photo
  • U.S. passport
  • Federal military ID
