HARDEEVILLE, SC (WTOC) -

Four former Hardeeville officials have pleaded not guilty to misconduct charges.

The Island Packet reports that former Treasurer Santesia Henderson, former Police Chief James Hubbard, former Police Lt. Eric Washington and former Fire Chief John Ekaitis were given personal recognizance bonds.

Prosecutors said the four took thousands of dollars in unauthorized bonuses and violated the leave-cashing policy.

Former City Administrator Shane Haynes will be arraigned next Monday.

They all face up to a 10 years in prison if convicted.
