LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

Lexington County Sheriff's Department detectives arrested a 20-year-old Columbia man whom detectives determined accompanied a 24-year-old Columbia man who remains wanted for shooting a West Columbia woman and leaving her to die on April 10.

Detectives arrested 20-year-old Tevin Xavier Deloach on an arrest warrant on a charge of murder.

Deloach was booked at the Lexington County Detention Center at 1:29 a.m. on Tuesday.

Deloach was being held on Tuesday at the county Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing, Metts said.

An arrest warrant alleges that Deloach accompanied John Christopher Hart at about 11:15 p.m. on April 10, when Hart acted with malice aforethought in shooting 43-year-old Paula Denise Justice in her upper torso with a firearm on Lumberjack Drive. Detectives determined that Justice had arranged to meet with Hart, who was an acquaintance, at about 10:15 p.m. on April 10.

An arrest warrant further alleges that Deloach drove Hart in a 1993 Lincoln Town Car to pick up Justice, drove Hart and Justice to Lumberjack Drive and later drove Hart to a location where Hart and Deloach parked and abandoned the Lincoln Town Car, Metts said.

Two men who were working to repossess a motor vehicle heard a gunshot and minutes later found Justice lying severely injured on Lumberjack Drive, Metts said. The men reported the incident to the Lexington County Communications Center at 11:19 p.m. on April 10.

Upon arrival, Lexington County Emergency Medical Services personnel found Justice was alive and transported her by ambulance to Lexington Medical Center. She was later pronounced dead.

Metts asked anyone with information about Hart, Hart's whereabouts or the fatal shooting of Justice to contact the Lexington County Sheriff's Department at (803) 785-8230 or CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC. Citizens also can report information anonymously by accessing the Crime Tip link on the Sheriff's Department web site (www.lexingtonsheriff.com).
