Comcast reports progress to Savannah City Council

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Cable and internet rates may have risen, but one Comcast official reported progress Thursday to Savannah's City Council.

The company increased rates by an average of 3 percent April 1. After a rash of complaints to city officials in 2012, Comcast Vice President for Government Affairs Andy Macke reported significant improvements -- including better training for technicians and better appointment-keeping.

Macke said right now, technicians arrive within their appointment window 97 percent of the time. And that appointment window has been shrunk from four hours to two.
