SEABROOK, SC (WTOC) -

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that took place Thursday afternoon at a Seabrook business.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the Driftwood Bait Shop at 3:30 p.m. in reference to a robbery that occurred moments earlier. Deputies met with a 54-year-old male employee upon arrival, who reported he had just been robbed at gunpoint.

The victim told police that an unknown black male entered the store and asked for fishing supplies. As the victim turned around to retrieve the item, the suspect took out a handgun. The suspect then demanded money from the register. After he was given an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled the store.

The suspect was seen leaving in a light gray older model sports car that was waiting outside of the store, occupied by a second individual. It was noted that the front metal bumper of the vehicle was dented. Police say the vehicle was last seen driving towards the Dale area.

The victim was unable to provide authorities with any further description of either suspect. He was not injured during the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator Cpl. B. Disbrow at 843.255.3407 or Crimestoppers at 1.888.CRIME.SC.
