Candice Glover survives another week of American Idol

Candice Glover has done it again. She's survived another week of American Idol.

Her name was the first one called Thursday night, as Ryan Secrest named the final four contestants.

After what some would call a perfect performance last week, the pressure was on Glover to deliver again, and she did just that, according to Idol judges.

The Beaufort County native performed current judge Mariah Carey's song "When you believe," and former judge Paula Abdul's "Straight Up." According to both Carey and Abdul, Glover took both of those songs and made them her own.

Abdul even surprised Glover at Thursday night's result special.

"I've been watching this remarkable young lady week after week captivating the audience and I've got to tell you, I was really moved that you shared your beautiful vocals on a song that's been a best friend to me," Abdul said to Glover. "I'm a big fan, and I've got to tell you, I'm the biggest fan ever now."

Glover will perform in the top four next Wednesday night.

If she makes it to the top three next week, there will be a Hometown Hero Parade in Beaufort County in her honor, something all of her Lowcountry fans can't wait for.
