Eight Grady High School students injured in school bus accident

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Eight students were injured in an accident involving an Atlanta school bus and a taxi van Monday morning.

It happened on Capitol Avenue near the I-20 off ramp.

According to police, the taxi was attempting a left turn, turned early before the intersection, and was hit by the bus. 

The taxi then spun and hit the brick wall at MLK Jr. Drive the Floyd Building.

Eight students were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The remaining students were transferred to another bus and taken to school.

All students attend Grady High School.

Mensur A. Ahmmed, 37, was charged with improper turn and failing to yield.

The school bus driver Tamika Render-Pate, 41, was charged with driving without a license on person.
