Police in Charlotte are searching for a teenager who is on the run after cutting off his electronic monitor on Wednesday on the city's northeast side.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, Cristian Hernandez, 17, left his house during his court ordered curfew hours and cut off his electronic monitor.

He is wanted by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) on outstanding warrants for larceny of auto, possession of a stolen vehicle, and interfering with an electronic monitoring device.
