Police: Man found in wrecked car died from gunshot wound
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives investigating the death of a Savannah man found in his wrecked car Thursday have determined that he died from a gunshot wound.
Authorities found Rodrick Richardson, 38, of the 500 block of Early Street, with wounds inconsistent with the severity of a the single-car wreck at Mills B. Lane Blvd. and Hopkins St. The Honda Richardson was driving had crashed into the chain link fence around Hodge Elementary School at about midnight.
Richardson was transported to Memorial University Medical Center and was later pronounced dead.
SCMPD violent crimes detectives are continuing to investigate.
