Report: Man gets out of car at red light, slaps other driver in face

Police in Charlotte issued a citation to a man for getting out of his car at a red light and slapping another person.

The incident was reported on April 24 at 4:05 p.m. on the 3900 block of Colony Road, according to the report from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

The victim told police that they were driving slowly down Colony Road behind another vehicle when it sped out from behind them and got in front.

When both vehicles stopped at a red light, the man got out of his vehicle, walked backed to the victim's vehicle and slapped the victim in the face with an open hand, according to the report.

The suspect then returned to his vehicle and left the scene. The victim was not injured.

Police located the man in a nearby shopping center and issued a citation for a simple assault.
