Currington was booked in the Chatham County jail at 4:59 p.m. Thursday

He is accused of threatening 70-year-old tour boat captain Harvey Farrelle.

According to police reports from the Tybee Police Dept. and Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Dept., Farrelle began screaming and cussing at Farrelle when he went by the country singer's dock on the public Back River.

Then Currington jumped in his boat and followed Farrelle and the two Canadian tourists also on board back to A-J's Dockside Restaurant, according to report.

One of those tourists said she was afraid for her life. A man who lives by the restaurant was on his balcony and saw what was happening. He says Currington was threatening and vulgar, according to the Tybee police report.

Currington's neighbors said that's not like him and that he moved to the end of Tybee's San Marco Drive because he wanted seclusion and was frustrated by tour boats going by his home.

The tour boat captain's neighbors said the captain is infringing on their privacy.

Currington is set to perform in Louisiana on Friday. There is no cancellation listed for that show on his website.

Ferrelle declined to comment on the case.

Currington was released on a $27,700 bond Thursday.
